Once again, we have two draws. After 3 games (of 4), both matches yielded in all draws. Kramnik and Gelfand will have white in the final game tomorrow. Unless there is a break through, they will head to rapid / blitz playoff.
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
What a horrible format to decide on a challenger. It’s sort of sad to watch.
Why is this so boring without TOPALOV ???
I don’t even bother to see through the games afterwards …
Magnus Carlsen was fully justified in criticizing this format. In any case,
I’m hoping to see a final between Kamsky and Grischuk. (Kramnik is boring. And as much as I appreciate the play of Gelfand, Kamsky is the American champion whose tenacity is very impressive.)
Kamsky had white, used a TN, and after about move 35 was happy to hang on for a draw. Gelfand is tough!!
I hope Gelfand wins the candidates. He will make a worthy challenger.
Anand prefers anybody than Kamsky. Pshycological reasons.
