      2008 Sigeman & Co Chess Tournament

      Sigeman, Sweden


      The 16th Sigeman & Co Chess Tournament will be played 22 – 30 April 2008 in Malmo, Sweden.

      Participants:

      GM Vassilios Kotronias, Greece 2611
      GM Evgeny Agrest, Sweden 2567
      GM Jan Timman, Holland 2565
      GM Lars Bo Hansen, Denmark 2563
      GM Kjetil Lie, Norway 2558
      GM Lajos Portisch, Hungary 2523
      GM Tiger Hillarp Persson, Sweden 2491
      GM Ralf Akesson, Sweden 2466
      Axel Smith, Sweden 2428

      The games will start daily at 14.00 CET except for the last round that will start 12.00 CET.
      There will be Live coverage of the games.

        OK, who’s the Axel patzer? And, who are thw two GMs below 2500? Don’t you lose your GM when you go below 2500??

        Axel “Patzer” Smith is Swedish Junior Champion and a coming man.
        Ralf Akesson was European Junior Champion 1980 in Groningen,Holland. 2nd was Evgeny Pigusov and third was Silvio Danailov, Veselin Topalov´s manager.
        Tiger Hillarp Persson is famous for his creative and wild play. He has also written “Tigers Modern”.

        Can you imagine Smyslov losing the GM title when he goes below 2500?

        Of course, chess titles are for life, si you can even have 2200 and be a GM in principle. And I wonder who good is this anonymous that calls a 2420 player (junior!) a patzer… You better have a better rating 🙂
