      WORLD WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP 2008

      The FIDE Presidential Board has approved the list of qualifiers and the schedule of the World Women’s Championship 2008, to be held in Nalchik, the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria (Russian Federation), from 28 August to 18 September with a prize fund of 450,000 USD.All qualifiers are requested to download, sign and send their Undertaking to the FIDE Secretariat in Athens, via fax: (+30) 2109212859 or email by the deadline of 17 June 2008.

      All payments must be made in local currency (foreign exchange is available in banks near the hotel). Credit cards are NOT accepted. Currency exchange rates as of 6/6/2008: 1 EUR = 36.61 RUB and 1 USD = 23.75 RUB.

        Thats what the “list of participants” is for.

        Finnally! Although there is still no announcement on the FIDE site. Looks like Alexandra Kosteniuk is returning to the chess scene after her baby break.
