why have separate events for women?

if we want to encourage women to play chess this is a counter effective method. By having a women’s event we are saying that girls are inherently weaker than me.
Not much chance after that for girls to believe that they can compete against men.

Up till the grandmaster level women can compete on equal terms with men.

But chess is a sexist game by nature ie. the object is to Mate.
