      3rd HDBank Cup Open Chess Tournament in Saigon, Vietnam

      HD Bank Cup, Saigon, Vietnam

      The Vietnam Chess Federation has the honor of inviting your Federation to participate in the 3rd HDBank Cup International Open Chess tournament 2013 which to be held from 18th to 25th March, 2013 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

      Time control and format

      Swiss System of 9 rounds. Pairings will be made by Swiss-manager program.

      The time control is 90 minutes for the whole game with an addition of 30 seconds per move starting from the first move. Draw offers before 30 moves shall not be allowed.


      All players must have FIDE ID number.

      Prize fund

      Thirty thousand US Dollars (US$30,000) in cash prizes shall be awarded:

      1st – $10,000
      2nd – $5,000
      3rd – $3,000
      4th – $2,000
      5th – $1,000
      6th – $800
      7th – $700
      8th – $600
      9th to 10th – $500 each
      11th to 15th – $300 each
      16th to 20th – $200 each
      Best women: 1st $1,500; 2nd $1,000; 3rd $800
      Best U16 – $100

      Cash prizes shall be shared equally among tied players.

      For trophies (Top 3 Standings), ties will be decided by Tiebreak: Buchholz, followed by Direct Encounter, Sonneborn-Berger; Greater number of Wins, Greater number of Wins with the Black pieces.

      Entry fee

      For all players based on February 1st, 2013 FIDE Ratings list, the entry fee is as follows:
      Registration is free for GM, IM, WGM and players with a FIDE Rating of 2500 and above.
      For all other players, the entry fee is as follows:


      Above 2399 – $50
      2350 to 2399 – $ 75
      2300 to 2349 – $100
      2250 to 2299 – $125
      2000 to 2250 – $150
      Below 2000 – $200

      Accommodation

      The Grandmasters who have ratings above 2550 and Women Grandmasters who have ratings above 2350 will be provided accommodation on a twin sharing basis during the tournament.

      Travel

      Players and people accompanied will be picked up at Tan Son Nhat airport, Ho Chi Minh City and taken to the Hotel by Organising committee.

      Entry deadline

      National Federation should fill the registration and send before February 10th , 2013. The registration form is enclosed but no later than February 28th, 2013.

      Players, who send entry later than the deadline above, will be charged double entry fee.

      Venue

      The Playing venue (also for Technical Meeting): RAMANA Hotel, 323 Le Van Sy street. District 3, Ho Chi Minh City,Vietnam

      Hotel Rate: US$45 with breakfast for 1 person/ 1 night/ sharing in twin room.

      Visa

      Participants who need visas shall apply for visas at the Vietnam Embassy in your respective countries. If you have any problems, please do not hesitate to contact us by the following address:
