Two Beaverton schools take state chess honors

Chess teams from Cooper Mountain Elementary and Meadow Park Middle schools in Beaverton took first place in the Chess for Success state tournament March 13-14 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. Cooper Mountain won the K-fifth grade category, and Meadow Park won the sixth-to-eighth grade category.
