A bold proposal at the State Capitol

Chess in Education, SPICE, Texas Tech

SPICE and Texas Tech University just made a bold proposal in Austin, Texas earlier today to create an officially sanctioned statewide chess competition. The first stage of this initiative is a big success. However, there are still a number of steps to take before it can become official.

If we succeed, the same program can be duplicated nationwide. This will open the door for thousands of schools in the U.S. to introduce chess in the schools so their students could have a fair opportunity to compete. It is still a long way to go but we have taken the bold first step to officially combine chess and education.

      Stay tuned for more information.
