FREE SUMMER CHESS LECTURE/SIMUL SERIES AT THE CHESS AND CHECKERS HOUSE IN CENTRAL PARK
New York, NY – June, 2007 — The Central Park Conservancy, New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and Pegasus Media Productions announce the “Free Summer Chess Lecture/Simul Series”, at the Chess and Checkers House in Central Park. This chess series – June, July, August and September – will be monthly lectures by Grandmasters and influential chess personalities featuring GM Maurice Ashley (June 24th), GM Susan Polgar (July 22nd), GM Lev Alburt (August 26th) and Bruce Pandolfini (September 30th). Following the lecture, a “Simul” (simultaneous chess play, wherein the Grandmaster moves from board to board, making one move at time) will be available for the first 30 registered participants with a chess rating of 1000 or better.
