looks to me like Rg7+ is ok. If the king goes to the edge of the board, white takes the bishop, allows queening, plays the rook to g3 and has a fortress. If Kf5 then
        Nd4+ Bxd4 (else Nxe2)
        Re7 Be5
        Rxe5 Kxe5
        f4+ any
        Kf2 stopping the pawn

what a very cool puzzle! h3+ seems to do the trick.

        if 1 .. Kh4

        2 Rd4+ Bxd4
        3 Nxd4 e1Q+
4 Kg2 and black must try and prevent Nf3 checkmate!

        if 1 .. Kf5
        2 Nd4+ Bxd4
        3. Re7 to win the pawn +-

Agree, 1.h3+! holds the position for white. While I first thought Anon @ 10:25 had a point, too, it dawned on me that the final position depicted here is not a fortress as Qd1 will put white in zugzwang, forcing the rook to leave g3. Black should be able to win although of course it is still tought work ahead. So my vote goes to 1.h3+ as well…

        adding to Anon 11:01’s comments:

        1 .. Kf5
        2 Nd4+ Bxd4
        3. Re7 Be5
        4. RxB KxB
        5. f4+! Kxf4
        6. Kf2.

This explains why the a-pawn is in the puzzle. It’s needed now to win.
