      ACP Cup – Quarter Finals

      The Quarter Finals of the 2013 ACP Cup were played on Saturday at the Rietumu bank headquarters in Riga, Latvia.

      In the afternoon schedule Grischuk swiftly eliminated Wojtaszek with 2-0, while Svidler won the first game and drew the second to get past Radjabov. The two Russians will play in the Semi Finals on Sunday 12:00h.

      In the evening session Ponomariov was convincing against Mamedyarov 2-0. Nepomniachtchi won the first rapid game but Malakhov struck back to equalize the score 1-1. In the next pair of blitz games Nepomniachtchi was successful (3-1) to finally qualify for the next round. The second Semi Finals pair is Nepomniachtchi – Ponomariov.

      ACP Cup – 1/8 Finals results

      ACP Cup is organized by the Association of Chess Professionals (ACP) and Latvian Chess Society. The playing format is a Knock-Out tournament with sixteen participants.

      Matches consist of two games, played with the Rapid time control: 25 minutes each at the start of the game with an increment of 10 seconds per move from move 1.
