Be7 NxB Rxd7 and if knight retreats, black can play g4 and keep his knight rooted, if white plays KxN then black plays RxN, in either case black is two pawns up and easily winning.
At first glance, and despite superior material, black looks like he’s in bad shape. It seems like he can’t prevent the d7 pawn from queening without sacrificing both his bishop and his knight, the latter being ‘en prise’ at the moment. But a neat little tactic saves the day :
1- … ; Rd2+
White basically has two options.
Option A
2- Kxh3??; g4+ 3- Kh4; Kh6 (boxing-in the white king) 4- Rh1 (to prevent the immediate Rxh2#) 4- … ; Rxd5 5- cxd5; Be7#
Option B
2- Kf1 (black’s knight is no longer ‘en prise’) 2- … ; Be7 3- Nxe7 ; Rxd7,
on reflection….! 1)….Rd2+ 2)Kxh3 g4+ 3)Kh4 Kh6 threatens mate two ways and i can’t see a double defence for White. If 1)…Rd2+ 2)Kf1 presumably Be7 and B wins the endgame…? regards Andrew
1. … Kh1/Kh3 2. Be7! Anything better here? 2. … Nxe7 (otherwise Bd8 is up with a healthy bishop) 3. Rxd7 Nd5 (or Nf5+ Kg6 Ne3) 4. g4 Re1 5. Re7/Ng5 is up with a strong e-pawn, black has a certain edge. White king being rather offside.

1. … Rd2+!!
2. Kf1 (or Kh1)Be7
3. Nxe7 Rxd7 and Black is much better off with an extra passed pawn.
2. Kxh3 is suicide of course
2. Kxh3 g4+
3. Kh4 Kh6 and a checkmate in few moves is forced!

leaving black up a pawn.
1. … Rd2+!
Perhaps the best defence for white is:
2. Kf1 Rxd5 3. cxd5 Be7 and black has B + N against white’s R. It should be sufficient for a win.
If 2. Kxh3 then 3. … g4+ 3. Kxh4 Kh6! (threatens 4. … Rxh2#) 4. Rh1 Rxd5 5. cxd5 Be7#
seems to me….
1)….Rd2+ 2)Kxh3 g4+ 3)Kh4 Be7+
4)Nxe7 Kf6 5) Rf1+ Kxe7 isn’t B winning this endgame?
improvements please?!

1. Rd2+! Kxh3? (alternative below)
2. g4+ Kh4
3. Kh6!
Nicely trapped king!
3. … Rh1 (d8=Q? Rxh2#)
4. Rxd5! d8=Q (cxd5 Be7#)
5. Rxd8 any
6. Be7#
1. … Kh1/Kh3
2. Be7!
