Chess champion Viswanathan Anand awards Super Achievers at NIIT
Sonali Acharjee New Delhi, December 26, 2013 | UPDATED 15:20 IST

NIIT MindChampion Viswanathan Anand felicitated the ‘Super Achievers’ at NIIT at an event organised in Delhi on Wednesday . Around 30 students and 18 faculty members from NIIT were awarded for their exemplary performance and contribution to the company.

Anand talked to the students about the various lessons that chess has taught him over the years and expressed his happiness over the fact that the game is now gaining popularity in India. Anand also emphasized on how Chess positively impacts analytical and logical thinking in children, thus helping them excel in academics. “Chess is a mind game that improves academic performance and aids in mental development of young children. I heartily congratulate the Super Achievers at NIIT for their commendable performance and wish them all the success in life,” adds Anand.

One of the most important initiatives of NIIT in recent times is ‘Cloud Campus’, which has redefined the education landscape by making available new-age skills available to students in all corners of the country. The software provides new-age training programs through the cutting-edge Cloud technology. This pioneering initiative from NIIT will help take high quality educational programs to the remotest corners of the country, thus addressing the dilemma of scalability and quality in education. “Education is the need of the hour. At NIIT we do what we can to encourage learning and dissemination of knowledge in an equal manner,” explains Rajendra Pawar, chairman and co-founder, NIIT.
