      New Delhi: NIIT Mind Champion Viswanathan Anand felicitated the Super Achievers at NIIT at an event organized in the city today. Over 30 students and 18 faculty members from NIIT were awarded for their exemplary performance. Also present on the occasion were Mr. Amitabh Lahiri, President, Career Building Solutions, NIIT Ltd. and Mr. Vinod Koul, Geo Head, Career Building Solutions, NIIT Ltd.

      NIIT Mind Champion Anand addressed the students on “Lessons from Chess” and expressed his happiness over the fact that ‘Chess’ is now gaining popularity in India and young enthusiasts of the game are taking it up seriously. The MindChampion spoke at length on how academics, just like the game of Chess is a mind game that requires concentration and in-depth understanding of the subject. During his talk, Anand also emphasized on how Chess positively impacts analytical and logical thinking in children, thus helping them excel in academics.

      Speaking on the occasion, NIIT Mind Champion Viswanathan Anand said, “Chess is a mind game that improves academic performance and aids in mental development of young children. I heartily congratulate the Super Achievers at NIIT for their commendable performance and wish them success in life.”
