      Anand, Boris Gelfand, World Championship


      Anand – Gelfand

      The World Chess Championship 2012 will be a match between the current world champion Viswanathan Anand of India and Boris Gelfand of Israel, winner of the Candidates tournament.

      The match will take place on 10–31 May 2012 in the Engineering Building of the State Tretyakov Gallery

        I think Gelfand will feel more at home playing in Russia.

        They are both outstanding players, but in the same critical age (40+) where the brain starts to have his first failing spots. I give a slightly psychological advantage to Mr. Gelfand, who has not tasted the World Championship and will give his best to do so. On the other hand, Mr. Anand has already earned all possible awards from FIDE and his own country, so he is struggling just for sports. I wonder why all betting sites give Mr. Anand as the favorite. Doesn’t their stats analytics think any more ?
