A WC is the most important event. And Gelfand has not been nominated as a challenger. He has sweated out to come to this position after surpassing the so called aronians and kramniks in the candidates (And note that he was the World cup winner). In terms of interest, I feel this will be more interesting. Gelfand will create beauties on the Chess Board. It’s an opportunity which was eluding him since longtime. So he will not give up so easily against Anand. And for Anand, he has almost achieved everything in Chess. The only thing that motivates him now is retaining the World Champion title. He too will not give up so easily. That is why I say, this will be more and more interesting. Having said this, I think Carlsen has the ability to become WC than Aronian – MAHENDRAKUMAR (Hyderabad India)
