      Another winteresque Saturday morning…

      December, Lubbock, Texas

…but not in the North or the Northeast where a major snow storm is expected. This is in Texas! But you never know, it may hit the 70’s tomorrow 🙂

I seem to remember 9-12 inches of snow in Lubbock once when I was a kid. It’s in the panhandle which is drier and colder than most other parts of the state. The snow is pretty. The dust however….

We’re a little far South to really be considered part of the panhandle and we get quite a bit less winter than Amarillo for instance.

That said, every few years we get a good week or so of snow or freezing rain that really puts a stop to things. The worst part is most of the people here have no idea how to drive on ice.

When it snows in Lubbock, all the senior citizens hop into their cars in hopes of taking a few people with them to “the light” through bizaar traffic accidents that involve launching expensive Cadillac DeVilles through peoples living rooms. No lie! It is true!
