        Very cool pic.
I hope Moro has break out season.

April 2007 – depends on Topalov who plays lot of top games.

I expect to see Topalov fall down. I would like to see Anand at the top and I would like to see a Match between Anand and Kramnik for the real title.

Aronian will be a beast this year… watch him put up impressive results… I see him at number 1 or 2 by next year.

Who among the top players is young and has been improving the most rapidly? Substantial further improvement seems most likely from Mamedyarov and/or Aronian.

the player i like is grischuk, morozevich and anand because they play interesting games. some of the players on this list have risen fast. this is just speculation but i think some of these fast risers through the rankings might be getting computer assitance during matches. if that indian guy got caught that means theres probaly more out there not getting caught. there needs to be an overhaul to the methods for catching cheaters. they are ruining the game.

I would like to see top money winners like the PGA golf tour does and other stats as a means of ranking a player.

        a] Money
        b] Most wins with Black
        c] Fewest Losses
        d] Endgame Wins
        e] Combination Wins

In golf we have Accuracy, Greens in Regulation, Putting, Yardage, etc…

The rating system needs to be revised to reflect the complexities of the game and showcase different talents…

        Just my two cents…

I was sitting around flipping a coin. and we all know it comes up heads 5 out of 10 times on average. But wait it came up 6 times out of 10 and a few times even 7 and once 8 times out of ten.

We accused the coin of useing a computer to cheat.

Chess results are like a coin flip. so a sting of wins in normal.

The top players dont cheat because the opponent would know almost immediately. There is a difference in the moves. the top players can spot the difference.

Ivanchuk is capable to be number one because he UNDERSTANDS chess!

Kasparov once said that programs like Fritz and Junior were like 2500 players who never blunder. Computers don’t play better chess, except when they access their tablebases in the endgame.

If you want to spot a cheater, I imagine you would look for a player that never blunders. There are none of those at the top. Didn’t Moro recently fail to win a Q vs R endgame ?

At least we know, based on that criteria, that neither Topalov nor Kramnik cheated in Elista.

Anand is traditionally good at Corus, so I think he will get the points he needs to pass Topalov for 1st.
Two things will be interesting to see:
        1) How will Kramnik do without the motivation of becoming unified WC.

        2) How will Carlsen do in a Cat 19 Tournament like Wijk.

        >>I expect to see Topalov fall down. I would like to see Anand at the top >>

Anand IS at the top, unofficially. His games from the Bundesliga, which haven’t been rated yet, will add 5 or 6 points to his rating.
