April 16: Congratulate the National Champion Chess Team
      April 15, 2014

Come congratulate the Webster University Chess Team and see their trophy at a celebration for their recent President’s Cup win on Wednesday, April 16, with remarks beginning at 11:30 a.m. in Marletto’s.

Chess piece dessert will be served, and you can chat with the Webster students who brought home Webster’s second consecutive “Final Four of College Chess” national title.

“This Final Four victory was a complete team effort by the students,” said head coachSusan Polgar. “They worked very hard since January, and made a lot of personal sacrifices, to be ready physically, mentally and chess-wise, to defend their National Championship title and make Webster proud.”
      Gorlok Gathering, 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

This is in addition to the Gorlok Gathering previously scheduled for that day, where you can join Webster University community members for a free lunch between 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Food will be served near the west entrance of Maria Hall and, weather permitting, there will be seating outside as well as inside Marletto’s Marketplace.
