      Armenia Chess Championship 2011

      The 71st Armenian Chess Championship is taking place from 18th to 29th January in Yerevan. Twelve players are engaged in the round robin tournament with the average elo of 2562. The champion will be invited to join the national team at the European Team Chess Championship in Creta Maris. GM Avetik Grigoryan is defending the last year’s title.

      4. GM Grigoryan Avetik 2595 – 3.5

      6. GM Petrosian Tigran L 2604 – 3.5
      7. GM Pashikian Arman 2640 – 3.5
      8. GM Minasian Ara 2464 – 3.5
      9. GM Minasian Artashes 2563 – 2.5
      10. GM Petrosian Davit G 2485 – 1.5
      11. GM Anastasian Ashot 2579 – 1.5
      12. GM Kotanjian Tigran 2519 – 1.0

        Relatively weak field, by Armenian standards. Their top 10 average is around 2650 and average for this is almost 100 points lower than that.
