      Aronian has big lead after day 2 at World Blitz Championship

      Aronian, Carlsen, Moscow, World Blitz Championship

      In spite of scoring only 1/2 point in the final 3 rounds today, including 2 straight losses, Aronian still maintains a comfortable 1.5 point lead over Carlsen going into the final day with 10 games to go. Here are the standings after day 2. Nakamura made a surge early on day 2 but he is still 3 points behind the leader.

        Of course it doesn’t count on the rating! Only standard length games count. How come people ask this all the time. People even ask if blind chess counts…

        Goes to show how much most ‘anons’ even know about chess! This is just ‘fun’ chess and has no bearing whatsoever on the slower game.

        I remember reading somewhere that FIDE is considering creating a speed chess rating. I think it would be cool.
