      Asian Youth Championships 2014

      Asia, Youth Chess


      The Asian Youth Chess Championships 2014 under 6, 8, 10 and 12 are scheduled to be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from 20th to 29th June, 2014.

      All Asian National Chess Federations affiliated to FIDE are invited to participate in the 2014 Youth Standard, Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships for under-6, under-8, under-10 and under-12 (Open and Girls). Each National Federation can enter one (1) invited player in each Section (under-8, under-10, under-12). The total of six (6) Official Players plus one accompanying trainer belonging to the national federation are invited by the Organizers. Other than Official Players, other players shall be classified as Additional Players. Under 6 players shall also be considered as additional (extra) players.

      Players who are entitled to participate must not reach the respective ages before 1st January 2014.

      National Federations should inform the Organizing Committee by 1st May 2014 about the number of participants in order to ascertain number of hotel rooms required. The registration deadline is 15th May 2014.

      Standard Chess: a 7 or 9 round Swiss, depending on the number of participants in the category, with a time control 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment. In the last round, if possible, players from the same country, who have more than 50%, shall not be paired together.

      Rapid Chess: a 7 round Swiss with tempo of plat 15 minutes + 10 seconds per player starting from move 1.

      Blitz Chess: a 7 round Swiss, where each player will have 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment.

      Medals will be awarded to the top 3 players in each event ad category. For the Standard Chess events FM and WFM titles are awarded to the winners of the under-12 Section (first after tie-break). CM and WCM are awarded to silver and bronze medal winners. Under-8 and Under-10 categories tied for the first place (best 3 players after tie-break) and silver and bronze medal winners will be awarded with CM and WCM titles.
