How about
1.Bg5 hxg5
2.hxg5 Nf4
3.gxf6 Nxe2
4.fxe7
?
If it is wrong then i admit to being a weaker player than Fischer
🙂

I think first Ng5 and then f4 playable. what black must do is his problem 🙂
After Nf4 I would play gxf4
No, I was wrong.
Or yet I was right? After Qxf4 Qh5 looks good
I am absolutely stupid, I can see nothing.
If
1 Ng5 hxg5
2 Bg5 wins the Queen.
Mark
i think youre right about
1. Bg5 hxg5
2. hxg5 Nf4
then i think simply
3. Qf1 wins the queen doesnt it?
sorry i have to make myself clear
i missed Qg6 but I think it works anyway
1. Bg5 hxg5
2. hxg5 Nf4
3. Qf1 Qg6
4. Nxe5 dxe5
5. Bh5 and wins queen (5…Qh7 6. Bxf7+) although at the cost of some material
btw
excellent games at corus today
nearly everyone seems to be playing to win!!
1.Ng5? Bd8
… and the queen escapes.
If you’re curious, this is Fischer-Ciocaltea, Varna 1962.
After:
1.Bg5 hxg5
2.hxg5 Nf4
… what’s wrong with the simple:
3.gxf6 Nxe2
4.fxe7
…, leaving White a piece up?
a piece up?
The knight on e2 is lost.
