Humpy is slower than Hou and tactically less sharp. No chance for Humpy vs Hou. I hope Humpy at least makes a fight of it.

As a fan of Koneru, I don’t know what to feel. Everyone has stretch of losses. Koneru played brilliantly in Doha Qatar to earn the right to challenge Hou Yifan. But I’m getting very nervous for this upcoming duel.

As much as I hate to doubt Koneru’s chances, perhaps Yifan is just that much better. Koneru’s positional style is just not dangerous enough and I wish The Queen of Chess, Judit Polgar could teach her a trick or two. But one must be tactically gifted, and Koneru is the opposite, positionally gifted.

P.S. Let us not forget that Kateryna Lahno is the true chess prodigy (she is so cute and polite):

        WOW!!!My favorites all won.

        Nadezhda Kosintseva
        Tatiana Kosintseva
        Kateryna Lahno
        Anna Muzychuk

        Let’s go, girls.

(It’s probably politically correct for me to use the term “girls”, since I’m just about old enough to be the grandmother of each of these women.)
