      Blame it on Rio

      Brazil

As I have predicted, Rio de Janeiro has been chosen as the site for the 2016 Olympic! Congratulations to Rio!

It’s the rightfull decision to bring the Olympics to South America.

It would be dead wrong if they awarded the games to any other candidate.

The decision shows that there is still some justice left and it’s not only money and politics that decide.

where are they going to have the games? In the ocean? On the mountain.

In apartment 11-b in one of those skyscrapers?

        Who knows?

Madrid was the best option .. but this decision is based only in politics and money …. 🙁

I saw the Atlanta Olympic Games from close quarters, and from what I saw, the Olympics are one heck of a corrupt organization. If you think USCF is corrupt, you only need to see the Olympics.

        Samples:

        1. Olympic swimmers had to get in line (a long line) along with the spectators. The usual gate at the back was reserved for the VIPs — Billy Pain and such.

        2. The Australian hockey team didn’t know how to get back to the village — and no one in the Olympic committee cared. They ultimately took rides from a coke-truck.

        3. The citizens of Atlanta were wonderful — they provided free volunteer service at the Games. And while they were doing that, Mr. Billy Pain and others were splurging like royalty. Who cared about the athletes? Not the organizers.

        4. Before the Games, they razed the Public Housing units next to Georgia Tech. People were sent packing.

        5. A little restaurant next to Georgia Tech (the Olympic Village) called itself “Olympic Pizza” for maybe 25-30 years. The Olympics went after this little guy.

        6. A huge new stadium was built with public money for the Olympics. It was next to the stadium that the Atlanta Braves baseball team used. Ted Turner owned the Braves. After the Games, the Braves got this stadium for free… and the other stadium which anyone would be happy to have was razed to the ground — all with public money.

What else do we want to know? It’s just a show that makes powerful people wealthy. The welfare of the athletes or the people or all the high fluting “peace on earth” is pure excreta of bull.

I’m just sharing what I saw. Have no personal axe to grind, or agenda to promote. I’m just a little guy, who loves chess, and this blog.
