      The International Chess Tournament “Bled Chess Festival 2016″ is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 19th March and Sunday 20th March 2016 in the grand hall of (5-star) Grand Hotel Toplice, Bled.

      The event is organized by ŠD Caissa, Turizem Bled and ŠK Ljubljana and it is open to all players who observe the “dress code” rule (tracksuits and trainers are not allowed; evening gowns and suits are preferred). In case of not observing the dress code, one cannot play in the tournament.

      The format of the tournament is 9-round Swiss, paired by WINSVICAR computer programme. FIDE rapid chess laws are used in the tournament. Each player will have 10 minutes + 5 seconds additional time per move.

      Schedule:
      Saturday, 19th March 2016:
      • acceptance of entries from 9 to 10.30 am
      • grand opening at 11 am, followed by round 1
      • other rounds will start right after the end of the previous round and results processing
      • cold buffet after round 3 (probably at 1.00 pm)
      • round 4 at 3.00 pm
      • a guided tour of the Bled Castle at 4.30 pm
      • chess activities from7.00 till 8.00 pm
      • dinner at 8.00 pm
      • fashion show with chess party at 9.00 pm

      Sunday, 20th March 2016:
      • breakfast from 7.00 am and 9.30 am
      • round 6 at 10.00 am, followed by rounds 7-9
      • dissemination of results and awards ceremony after the final round

      Kindly note that the deadline for preliminary applications is Friday, 11th March 2016 via e-mail (darjakaps@gmail.com). The list of entrants will be published and regularly updated on the tournament’s webpage (http://www.caissa.si).

      The prizes in the amount of 3.010,00 € (gross) + practical prizes will be awarded as follows:
      1st place: 700 € + weekend in Bled
      2nd place: 400 € + weekend in Bled
      3rd place: 250 € + weekend in Bled
      4th place: 150 € + practical prize
      5th place: 100 € + practical prize
      6th place: 90 € + practical prize
      7th place: 80 € + practical prize
      8th place: 70 € + practical prize
      9th place: 60 € + practical prize
      10th place: 50 € + practical prize

      Best in women’s section: 100€ + weekend in Bled, practical prizes
      Best veterans (year 1956 and older): 70€ + weekend in Bled, practical prizes
      Best juniors – girls/boys (year 1996 and younger): 70, 50, 30 € and practical prizes
      Best under 2400: 100, 70, 50 € and practical prizes
      Best under 2200: 100, 70, 50 € and practical prizes
      Bets under 2000: 70, 50, 30 € and practical prizes
