      Here are some notable results in round 5 of the 2010 Chess Olympiad:

      The defending Olympiad champion is rolling along again!

      Armenia 2.5 – 1.5 Russia B

      This is a shocker! It is not a big surprise that Vietnam lost. The margin is a huge surprise!

      Vietnam 0.5 – 3.5 Georgia
      1. Le, Quang Liem 0-1 Jobava, Baadur
      2. Nguyen, Ngoc Truong Son 0-1 Gagunashvili, Merab
      3. Nguyen, Anh Dung ½-½ Mchedlishvili, Mikheil

      Another margin shocker is Czech vs. Mexico.

      The Italian team is quite dangerous.

      Italy 2 – 2 Cuba
      1. Caruana, Fabiano ½-½ Dominguez Perez, Leinier
      2. Godena, Michele ½-½ Bruzon Batista, Lazaro
      3. Vocaturo, Daniele ½-½ Quesada Perez, Yuniesky

      The US is back on track with this strong win.

      One should not forget that Russia C is also very dangerous. Israel just found out the hard way.

        Looks like Russia needs to use more of the alphabet to win… perhaps an I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P team to increase their chances of winning.
