Exhibition chess tournament at game city today
Today the Botswana Chess Federation (BFC) is staging their first ever exhibition chess tournament at Game City mall, as part of their 30th anniversary celebrations.
The tournament sponsored by Glazing Botswana to the tune of over P20, 000, features the top six players in Botswana in both man and woman’s categories.
The games are scheduled to start at 10:00 am till 1:00 pm at Game City mall by the foyer between Stuttafords and Forchini, according to the BCF Secretary General, Kelapile Kelathilwe.
P8,850.00 will go towards the prize fund, while the other portion of the sponsorship will go towards erecting a glass wall that will house players during the exhibition event at Game City. Recently the BCF donated chess equipment in a remote area dweller settlement of Shadishadi in the Kweneng district as part of their anniversary activities.
