why is Eddie Mark (2096) of Miami, Florida allowed to participate in the Buffalo Mayor’s Cup?

Maybe because they need one out of state player for norm? 🙂

Maybe he defected north from Miami to Buffalo? 🙂

        Mr. Helfest,

        In response to your question:

Anyone is permitted to play in the 1st Annual Mayor’s Cup of Buffalo as it is a USCF rated Grand Prix tournament. However, the title of “Chess Champion of Buffalo” along with the Mayor’s Cup will be awarded to the player from Western New York who has the highest score in the Open section.

I urge anyone with the time and the means to come up and play.

Best in chess and in life,
        Dr. Mark Mieth
