      Panama, Women's Chess, Zonal

       
      The Central American and Caribbean Championships in women’s chess, Zonal 2.3. qualifying event, was held from 4th to 10th December in Aramo Hotel Panama City, Panama.

      The Organizing Committee covered accommodation and meals for the national champions of the participating countries.

      The tournament was played over nine rounds of Swiss system. Prizes: 1st USD $ 1,000.00 + trophy; 2nd USD $ 500.00 + trophy; 3rd USD $ 350.00 + trophy; 4th $ 150.00 USD; 5th USD $ 100.00.

      Final standings:

      1. WIM Llaudy Pupo Lisandra CUB 2258 – 8
      2-3. WGM Vigoa Apecheche Yanira CUB 2352 and WGM Arribas Robaina Maritza CUB 2273 – 7.5
      4. WCM Gonzalez Yaribeth PAN 1804 – 5
      5. WIM Fandino Reyes Roquelina CUB 2095 – 4.5
      6-9. WIM Munoz Carolina CRC 1959, Rodriguez Arrieta Maria Elena CRC 1823, Acevedo Mendez Lisseth CRC 1889 and Chung Yaleika PAN 1691 – 4
      10-12. WCM Munoz Alba PAN 1684, Chaves Alfaro Pamela CRC 0 and Salas Pamela Maria CRC 0 – 3.5
