Dear Susan I want to give you my deepest apology for that terribly inapproriate and disgusting message that was sent you. I am ashamed of what was said and want to try to make it right somehow. I suffer from a depressive disorder and Bi-Polar disorder, still no excuse. I play the game of chess to help fight this disease but sometimes it is so frustrating I dont know how to control my anger. I want to go on to say you are one of the great examples of class and dignity! Of how a person in any walk of life should carry themsleves. I wish you all the best and dearly hope you win the USCF election. Susan God Bless you and you’re entire family.
Strange that 4 out of 8 are prequalified. The champion and the runner up should be more than enough. The candidates, Carlsen and Aronian will draw all the way and Aronian pull it off in the shoot out. Adams is more solid than Shirov and win the one nec. game. Then Adams win theier encounter. Leko is better than Gurevich. Bareev has been where?-judith wins on popular demand. Leko defeats here again. Ponomariov will steal all the rubelskis and meet Grischuk that swindles Malakhov in the rapids and then Pono in the next matc. Kasim is the born matcplayer and will meet Kamsky and beat him as well. In the Grand finale Wisvanathan will show why he is nr 1. Then FIDE changes the rules again after Illjumsjonov has been abducted by aliens and the saga continues.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could send
e-mails to Kamsky (like the telegrams to Fischer in 1972) wishing him good luck
in Elista where he’ll be the only American? Does anyone
feel involved or wish to become so? Remember, there are 4 qualifiers and he’s
a dark horse, but still has a chance!
Are these being relayed anywhere, does anyone know?
Anon 4:45am, Viswanathan is Anand’s father. You can call Susan Polgar either “Susan” or “Polgar”, but you cannot call Anand “Viswanathan”. When you call him “Viswanathan Anand”, it means “Viswanathan’s son Anand”.

Dear Susan,
How do you rate Judit’s chances against Bareev?
How can both styles be compared to eachother?
I know you will of course root for your sister Jutka! (so will I!!!) but can you please try to give an objective view on this matchup? Who has the biggest chance to win, Bareev or Polgar?
I know Judit has a very aggressive tactical style. How is the style of Bareev? How will these 2 styles result when playing eachother.?
Thx if you wanna analyse this situation 🙂
Greets from Belgium, Theo
Forgive me, I’ve been out of the loop for a while and missed some news. Why isn’t Topalov playing here? He should pre-qualify, right? Has he withdrawn? Was there some more drama that I missed? Thanks all. And big thanks, Susan. Kent
It was in the contract of the Elista match that the loser of the Kramnik-Topalov match would NOT participate in this…
I do not think that there are clear-cut favorites here. IT will be interesting to see how much Carlsen, at his early age, has progressed.
Not having Topalov in the field, from both a perspective of excitement and his playing strength, is most regretable.
********** GO KAMSKY *************
I hope Gata wins. A long time fan and hope he becomes WORLD CHAMPION!
It will be an extremely tough challenge for him to make it, but I and all of his fans in USA and World are backing him up on this venture!
After Kamsky I would love to see Judit win the championship.
