This is the result of Kasparov showing up. Anand has to play against his old nemesis and Carlsen now. Completely unfair. I hope India bans him from the country!

If 14…Ne5 then 15.Qe4! attacking the Knight and at the same time posing a pin threat by the rook on the black’s Queen. Q to f6 would allow an attack from the hRook Anand was to defend and not attack from the beginning…He should have doubled the pawns on c3 by 6…BxN3 7…Ng8 to e7 and castled, on move 11…NxN on d4 was the simplification to a draw rather than the clumsy N to g4!

Anand should not have allowed exchange on c6 by NxN on d4 and doubled the pawns on c3 by BxN on c3. Should have castled, by playing gN to e7 and only then gone for the attack. His attack suddenly wilted…as a world champion didn’t he see that?

Loved the way Susan covered part of the game analysis. Great work.
