Don’t know about anyone else, but I played through that game, and black had phantom rooks.
Same here, looks like Carlsen had a spare rook conveniently placed on f9 🙂

Leko got a certain opening advantage, thus the initiative in the middle game. Carlsen defended precisely and decided later to exchange queens in order to obtain an endgame he knew he would draw.
Almost anyone would have gone down against Leko after ..Be7 and ..d6 today.
If Leko was thinking like this about the initial position it’s a suprize he did this well.
