      Chess: Carlsen wins Nanjing Pearl Spring Chess Tournament

      Norway’s chess ace Magnus Carlsen (18) on Thursday secured visctory in the Nanjing Pearl Spring Chess Tournament in China, when his game against Teimur Radjabov from Aserbaidjan ended in a draw.

      One game remains, against Russia’s Dmitry Jacovenk on Friday, but it is already clear that Carlsen has won the seson’s first grand slam tournament, according to NRK.

        He can still not win the tournament, if he for example in the last round goes into a fistfight over a girl or something like that, and gets disqualified. Chances of that happening are unlikely, but possible. Dont forget the Aronian incident.

        And again, if investigation proves there was foul play at the womens team world ch. chinese tournaments may not get rated at all, and so no jump to 2800+ for Magnus.
