Anonymous #2 (Peter), thank you very kindly for your comment, it is most appreciated. You can view my illustration work at the following sites:
        http://www.wideopenwest.com/~jbuckley9576/
        and
        http://buckleytypographics.deviantart.com/

Anonymous #3, a little background information for you: The work in question required the original design of the work, illustrating the chess pieces, splining and building 3D models, texturing and then skinning them, rendering in 3D, assembly in, yes, egad, Photoshop, and final assembly, lighting and textures. Also the addition of the chess moves overlayed in the background do give depth and interest. The software packages used were: Illustrator, Photoshop, ProModeler, Bryce, Carrara and Strata 3D CX. I have a dual degree in Graphic Design and Illustration from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and attended UofI Chicago and the American Academy of Art in Chicago. I have worked in the field as a professional artist since 1983. I am currently employed as Graphic Design Manager for a Fortune 500 corporation in the Advertising and Corporate Communications department, with 5 designers reporting to me. In my career I have also provided freelance illustration to a variety of nationally recognized magazines, commercial and trade publications including Chess Life.

Oh, and I very much look forward to your artistic submission to this blog.

wow….the guy uses software to pretend he’s an artist and then challenges an honest retort.
I don’t know but ….without using software I think I can beat something lame like that. Though the problem is the masses usually go for Kitch like this. You know..velvet elvis..etc.
This sort of “art” is easily done by anyone who can use the software. Photoshop..Illustrator…Mia..3d Max…it never ends..but the real artists always win because they actually have talent. It’s jus sad that the general public are too dense to see. And thats why its not important to compete..because they don’t know the difference. Your art is lame.

A great many people mistake opinions for thoughts.
