Chess Festival Moscow Open to be held in 2015

      Moscow, Moscow Open, Russia

The Moscow Chess Federation will organize the 11th Moscow Open in 2015, the MCF Board decided at the meeting held on 18th June.

The recent happenings at the Russian State Social University, which hosted the event since its inception in 2005, “may jeopardize the Festival”. MCF Vice-President Nikita Kim said – “Unfortunately, at the moment there is no clear guarantee that RSSU will be ready to hold the event.”

However, the MCF is ready to find the alternative venue if necessary. The main partner is defined and in the middle of July the location and conditions of the Festival will be announced.

In recent years the number of participants in the Festival consistently exceeded 1500.

It’s good that they’re doing it.

Nakamura will beat all the Russian players like what Fischer did to them. Nakamura is the re-incarnation of Fischer that’s why he is the Great Grandmaster of all time. Ad you can take to the bank.

As far as I can make out, the “recent happenings” are the firing of the rector for plagiarism.

And some interesting allegations on a non-authoritative site that I can’t verify:

So, we repeat passable that it didn`t seem to you as to me as if you went mad.
        At this university
the honourable rector-founder of RGSU – Vasily Ivanovich Zhukov,
the vice rector of RGSU – his wife Galina Savostyanovna Zhukov,
the acting rector of RGSU – their daughter Lydia Vasilyevna Zhukov (Fedyakina),
the vice rector of RGSU – their son-in-law, Vitaly Sergeyevich Fedyakin
the former head of department of RGSU, and nowadays the senior teacher of RGSU the-junior daughter of the rector-founder and one vice rector, the sister-in-law of other vice rector and the sister of the acting rector Galina Vasilyevna Zhukov.

… which looks like a bad translation of a Russian blog post.
