Strange – when you put up a picture of a guy, no-one says ‘he’s a hunk all right!’. Why do we keep treating women as objects?
Hmm. I don’t think saying she’s beautiful is good, bad, or neither. Intelligence and beauty are a winning combination. Can we quit pretending that people don’t have status/power because of their look? Noticing a person’s physical attractiveness doesn’t undermine our respect for their other capacities.

We have Kosteniuk to thank for degrading women by using sex appeal to promote herself instead of chess. Now that even after she is a GM, the label of Kournikova of chess sticks. It’s a shame cause she’s a decent player.
It she would have focused on chess instead of the BS marketing hype, she could be a respectable world champion. Now she’s just another one who wins a knock out world championship like Ponomariov and Khalifman.
