Wang Yue of course, at 82 games. The current record was set by Tal – 95 games. Tal also holds the second longest streak, 86 I think.

        Chinese GM Wang Yue.

I leap to comment only because I can be first.

        It was Kramnik.

This was in the period before he took the Title, when Kramnik was actually a good player.
Since taking the Title, even with his super-chicken attitude of playing to draw every game with black, he has been unable to come close to repeating this feat.

It is Wang Yue. He is now 85 games unbeaten, after Rounds 13 – 15 (3 rounds), of Chinese League played on 2-4 November.

At Linköping 1969, Friedrich Sämisch lost all thirteen games in a tournament by exceeding the time control.

“… over 80 games and counting.”

GM Drasko doesn’t qualify. His streak ended in 2007.

Another round of Chinese League (round 16) completed today, Wang Yue remains undefeated. He is now 86 games unbeaten.
There are 2 more rounds of Chinese League to play. He could be 88 games undefeated after the competition.
