      2. Which player has participated in the most US Open?

      3. Which American player has won the most Olympiad medals? How many Olympiad medals has this player won?

      4. Who is the youngest American grandmaster (US citizen) ever?

      5. Not counting Fischer, which American player has the highest ever USCF and FIDE ratings? Bonus question: What were the ratings?

        Fischer won 7 or 8 champsips flled by S. Reshevskyt, hes the best us american, funny that both of them art 100% americans if iu kind of think about!
        susan polgar would rule chess in the us if she wanted to.

        Fischer won all 8 US Championships he took part in, including the 11-0 sweep in 1963-4: source = Andy Soltis’ book on the US Chess Ch.
        I don’t suppose anyone has done better than that.

        The youngest American GM has to be Nakamura.

        The new kid left America and is now a soon to be Italian GM.

        Youngest American GM: 14-yr-old Fabiano Caruano (if this has been ratified since August 6th this year).
        Otherwise Hikaru Nakamura as stated above.

        For question #1:
        Fischer won 8 US Championships and Gisela Gresser won 9 US Women’s championships.

        Gata Kamsky is the highest rated American: FIDE(2718), USCF(2757)

        Yes, Gresser is the answer to #1. Fischer and Reshevsky both won 8 US Championships, but Gresser won 9 US Women’s titles.

        Isaac Kashdan won 9 olympic medals (5 individual and 4 team).

        Susan Polgar won 11 (7 individual), but only 3 playing for the USA (and it’s anyway the women’s record).
