        Botvinnik, Smyslov, Petrosyan, Tal
        and Spassky. Five World Champions,
men that is. No pictures of Women
        World Champions then Susan?

I don’t think the man sitting between Smyslov (at the end) and Spassky is Botvinnik. That must be Eiwe. I don’t see Botvinnik at all in the picture.

I would be very curious about the people standing in the picture. Many of them look tantalizingly familliar.

I think that there are 6 World Champions in the picture… Euwe is there too, is he not?… sitting next to Smyslov… Botvinnik stands just behind Spassky…

I’m pretty sure the seated front row, from left to right, is:

        Petrosian, Tal, Spassky, Euwe, Smyslov

Two behind Petrosian’s right side is Keres. Older man 3/4ths view behind Euwe is Najdorf.

This picture was probably taken around 1967 or so.

I think it is Bronstein who stands behind Spassky.
I have also recognized Geller, Najdorf and Gligoric, but they weren’t world champions !

Yes, that’s definitely Euwe. Five world champions on the front row. I also see Gligoric, Reshevsky and Najdorf farther back. It would take longer to identify the others.

I am not convinced the person standing 2 behind Petrosian is Keres. The guy to the right of Keres-wannabe looks very familliar, but I cannot put the name to the face. I think, he is British.

Is the guy right behind Petrosian Reshevsky?

I agree that it’s Bronstein standing behind Spassky. I think, he is actually talking to Keres (the real one!) and Larsen. Then behind him is the famous mustache of Gligoric.

It must be Geller on the far right of the picture.

Yes, of course, it’s Najdorf standing behind Euwe, but who is the gentleman with him (to his left)?

Petrosian, Tal, Spassky, Euwe i Smislov, Fischer, Reshevsky, Gligoric, Najdorf, Matulovic, Geller, Keres, Botvinnik, Polugajevsk, Uhlman, Taimanov, Ivkov and Milivoje Molerovic

        Regards,

        Thanks Goran.

Yes, I can see Bobby Fischer now, next to Geller on the far right.

I guess I was right about Reshevsky standing directly behind Petrosian.

Polugaevsky must be the tallest guy in the picture (3 behind Petrosian)

Is that Taimanov on Najdorf left then?

        Standing left to right:

        Leonid Stein
        Paul Keres
        Samuel Reshevsky
        Svetozar Gligoric
        Bent Larsen
        David Bronstein
        Miguel Najdorf
        Yefim Geller

Seated left to right: 5 WC

        Tigran Petrosian
        Mikhail Tahl or Tal
        Boris Spasski or sky
        Max Euwe
        Vassily Smyslov

I cannot find Bobby Fischer at all.
Boris Ivkov might be the one on the back standing left side.

I still do not see Fischer?
