        China is superior to Russia.

I won’t go that far. Kramnik, Grischuk and Moresevich didn’t take part in this tournment. China is improving fast, but Russia is still the #1 chess country in men’s play.

Now in 10 years maybe everything will be different.

        Correction for anon 9:40:00:

Three of the top four Russians aren’t competing in this event, so instead of “China is superior to Russia”, you should say, “China’s best are superior to the Russian second-stringers.” To be sure, this is a remarkable achievement, but Russian chess has been second to none since Alekhine and will continue to be so for quite some time.

Russia is stronger in chess. This is the 5th China vs Russia match. China lost the first two matches but won the last two. I think except Kramnik, other top Russian players had led the team in ealier matches. If Russia loses again, I hope they would get all their top guns out at the same time next year.
