Cinderella finally arrives to the SPGI at Texas Tech University

Dyhemia Young, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lubbock, SP Girl's Invitational, SPICE, Texas Tech, Will Smith

Nearly 20 players and Chess Moms came to the Lubbock International Airport at 10:30 pm tonight to welcome Dyhemia Young, the Cinderella who was featured on the front page of the LA Times yesterday.

About 30 minutes before I went to the airport to pick up Dyhemia, I received a phone call from the agency which represents the Smith family (Will and Jada Pinkett Smith). The Smith family decided to make a donation to the Susan Polgar Foundation to help pay for some of the costs for Dyhemia. There were also a number of other pledges from generous individuals and companies to help her.

Thank you everyone for allowing Cinderella to go to the Chess Ball. Dyhemia was so touched when she heard the news. She asked me to thank everybody for showing her so much love and support!
