My long time friend GM Pia Cramling just won her 2nd European Individual Chess Championship title. To win the title, she had to beat IM Khurtsidze, GM Stefanova and IM Cmilyte in the final 3 rounds. Here are the last round top board results:

In spit of the loss in the last round, Cmilyte earned an 11 game GM norm. Her rating will also pass 2500. Zhukova also gained nearly 9 points which should put her rating above 2500. Since she already had 3 GM norms, she should be awarded the GM title shortly.

I admire Cramling. Not many chess players are still active at this age.

        Congratulations!

I may be wrong but I do not believe it is a 20 game norm. If she wins the tournament, she would have gotten the 20 game norm. But since she finished 2nd, I believe she will get an 11 game norm.

        Best wishes,
