one of the most obvious traits is missing from the list:

trolls delight in starting flamewars. they post stuff they neither believe or are interested in, for the sole purpose of starting a flame war.

replies to such remarks are usually referred to as “feeding the troll”

        Ha Ha Ha

The picture is so funny but really so serious.

If you click on the picture it will appear larger.

This picture should be posted prominently at USCF Chess Forums. They just love to argue argue argue over there. Even friends argue there.

Susan you have my vote. Throw the Trolls off your blog.

This is the best chess web site in the world.

I just have to type the small type so it is easier to read off the poster. The poster says:

TROLLS try to disrupt, destroy or change newsgroups to fit their own agendas.

They often use such techniques as:
        flooding by excessive posting
        attempting to divide and conquer
making themselves the saviour of the group
trying to impress others with their knowledge
        threatening people
        spreading rumours
        violating newsgroup policies
        posting under many aliases
        disguising their headers

TROLLS often have seriouis personal issues that lead them to try to control others.

TROLLS don’t hang around in newsgroups where people don’t respond to their rants.

The best way to deal with trolls is to IGNORE them.

It’s the best site despite being full of trolls that haven’t been thrown off yet? That seems like a trolling comment right there.

The single biggest reason I all but stopped visiting the USCF forums is that the community ENJOYS replying to posts by S.S.. Troll feedings are frequent and abundant there. I find it all so boring.

Those who feed S.S. claim to be helping the forum, because their posts try to refute S.S. spew. But the truth is their feedings greatly harm that forum. I came to realize they enjoy the arguing. They will miss S.S. when he leaves the ExecBoard.

Another big problem is that every new forum member is at first half impressed by S.S. postings. They even feel others are comparatively uncivil and unfair. The problem is each new person is uninformed about the history of S.S. posts meant to mislead or outright lie. So the cycle continues.

Yes, probably you have the reason…I use to fight against them and it is a work without possible end, because always there is another one.
(example: read my second post on a pawns endgame -20/March-)

And yes,I believe I am wasting my time doing that…as you, english speaking people use to say, they must “get a life” and I do not want to be part of it.

        Let´s save energy,our energy,let´s ignore them!

I would say that the biggest trolls are Brian Lafferty and Sam Sloan.
