I am reading right now the spanish chess magazine “Peon de rey” (traslation:king´s pawn) and in its number of october 2006, Moskalenko(an ukrainian GM,who lives in Spain since nine years ago), told this:

… to the eighth round of Banyoles Open , legendary Viktor Korchnoi came very tired, since one day earlier it had to travel from Zurich to fight against other legends, as Kasparov, Karpov and Polgar. His result there was not very satisfactory, and for this reason, in the move 8 Korchnoi offered draw to his opponent, another strong Dutch GM (but been born in Russia) Sergey Tiviakov, who for his part, came to Banyoles with the target to raise his elo up to 2700 and to do 9 of 9 to obtain the 3000 euros prize.

In this way, without answering to his rival, Tiviakov realized his move – answer. Immediately we saw Korchnoi getting angry, saying in Russian:
“what does that, lad mean? do not you want draw? According to the rules it is necessary to answer to my words …! “
After this pressure on the part of Viktor (also called the Terrible) Tiviakov could not continue well the game and lost as a child.

        Korchnoi is always Korchnoi! 🙂

        Look at me!
I am doing the quite opposite thing as Smyslov did. He used to use his head for thinking while putting his hands under his ass to avoid hasty moves.

Mr Korchnoi snarls… “I play chess for 80 years!!! I beat all the greats Bronstein, Symslov, Petrosian, Tal, Fischer, Karpov, and about 1 million others!!!!!” Victor barks, “I am so strong GM I will make all my moves without using da hands!! I will use telepathy to checkmate my opponent!!!!!”
