      Cuban Dominguez in Top Ten of World Chess

      Chess Ratings, Cuba, Leinier Dominguez


      Cuban Leinier Domínguez is officially part of the group of the 10 best chess players worldwide, according to the latest update of the world rankings.

      Domínguez recorded an outstanding performance in recent weeks, adding 11 points to his ELO, and moving two slots higher in the rankings, to tenth place, with 2,768 units.

      His performance at the recent Russian Clubs Championship was influential, where he finished undefeated in the St. Petersburg ranking, taking third place in the contest.

      For Latin America, the second closest player is his compatriot Lazaro Bruzon, who appears at 63rd place, with 2,682 points, while the Peruvian Julio Granda dropped from 61 to 67, with 2,675 points, 10 less than in the previous list.

      The Norwegian Magnus Carlsen, 23, remains at the top of the classification, world champion, with 2,882 points, followed by the Armenian Levon Aronian and the Russian Alexander Grischuk, who made his debut in the world rankings after adding 15 units to his score.
