Dylan and Maddie battled to a draw

Dylan, Houston, Maddie, National K-12, Texas

Both Dylan Kosinski and Maddie Bender are tied for 7th in the 4th grade section of the National K-12 Championships. I am very proud of both of them. They fought very hard every round.

Forgive my ignorance please, but who are Dylan and Maddie?
Congratulations to them anyway – great job!

Just two of the many great chess playing kids from NYC. They happen to have played a bunch of times (including last week at a local scholastic tournament). Dylan definitely has the edge as he has won at least twice (including in last year’s New York State Scholastic Championship where he won the section) but they have drawn a few times, including once at the Tri-State Chess Challenge organized by GM Polgar last year.
