It’s really cool playing in the pool! Budapest is very famous for their natural spas. I wouldn’t be surprised if Susan was playing at the Széchenyi Bath. The bath house itself is very beautiful with various indoor baths to choose from. Outside, there is a pool where various chess sets are set up on a ledge. I met people from different countries from all around the world when I played a few games! Take the world’s first subway over to the bath also. THey still use the old fashioned trains for that line to the bath.

So you play soccer in high heels; you play chess in swimsuits; what do you wear when you go to the opera?

Why the extra pawns on the side of the board?

And when is the calendar coming out?

        🙂

There was a famous picture of Fischer playing Evans(?) in a swimming pool and a decade or so later Kasparov had to do one almost exactly like it. Susan is carrying on an illustrious tradition ;).

I’d be pretty terrified of that warm water. According to Budapest tourist guides, the water is radioactive. When that was first discovered 100+ years ago, doctors thought radioactivity had healthful effects. Apparently some people still think that and the springs are very popular, but it is scary from a modern scientific viewpoint.

Is the water more radioactive than the radioactivity you get just from standing outdoors in the sun?
