Federer or Roddick? Sharapova or Clijster?

      Breaking News

These are the two premier semifinal matchups that will be played in the next 12 hours or so at the Australian Open Tennis.

Who will make it to the final?

      Roddick (6) or Federer (1)?

      Sharapova (1) or Clijster (4)?

All four have been ranked #1 in the world.

In the other men’s semifinal, the 12th seed Tommy Haas will face the 10th seed Fernando Gonzalez. The unseeded Serena Williams will face the 10th seed Nicole Vaidisova in the other women’s semifinal. I expect Serena to advance to the final.

I miss the coverage Tennis used to get when Bjorg and King were still competing but I still enjoy a good tennis match. I am rooting for Clijster and Federer if I must choose someone but I won’t be disappointed as long as the matches are good.

I stick with my prediction before it started, Federer and Clijsters
although more and more I think Roddick might upset my pair. There have been some great matches here.

I think Serena Williams should be an inspiration to all young sports players, so much determination. I hope that Susan deletes the previous anonymous and rascist post

Yes I know Andy Roddick beat Federer in an Exhibition a couple of weeks ago, but Federer has not even dropped one set in this fortnight. Federer will lose a set but Federer goes to the finals and If Gonzalez can beat Blake and Nadal barely breaking a sweat, he’ll have little trouble beating Haas. It should be straight sets. Clijsters is on her farewell tour this year and should win vs. Sharapova. Sharapova has been pushed to the limit in a few matches and was lucky to get out of the 1st round. Serena should win tonight vs. Vaidisova (who beat my fellow Rhode Islander Jill Craybas in round 1)
In the end Federer and Clijsters will hold the trophys.

I’m cheering for Kim Clijsters as i’m from Belgium too!

I hope Federer wins the Australian Open but Roddick would deserve it as well, he has worked extremely hard for it.

Federer – Roddick is the final in
        the semifinals. Roddick is im-
        proving, due to Connors’ coaching.
Federer is still my choice to win.

I’ll pick Sharapova to win, but I hope Clijsters will actually win
        her 2nd major.

Federer is really strong when it comes to the finals. Maybe Clijsters has the edge over Sharapova.
