      FIDE’s new invention! Baaaaahhhh

      Candidate, FIDE, Matches

The method to decide which player gets White in the first game is … draw a sheep! White sheep for Judit means she gets white against Bareev in the first game 🙂

Well…that is surely more interesting than a coin flip!

I first thought it was cute, but then I thought that it gives the impression that chess is a backward sport. Sort of like a sport Borat would play.
Can you imagine how a cynical news person would report this story?

        About Judith’s form:
Her performance against Bacrot is going to reveal the clouds. Right now I feel the before-match tension and excitement and it is so hard to predict how will she do. There is so much she represents and stands for. Can she be a top superGM and raise a child at the same time, also function as a wife? This I think has no precedence. I personally think that a person that cannot devote himself entirely to chess cannot compete at the most highest of levels. I have no idea how Judith manages but I am all excitement to see. I pray that her games will be exciting full of will to win. Whether she wins or loses is less important than the overall zest and conviction of her game and play.
