Filipinos can excel in cerebral sports

      Philippines, Wesley So

      Opinion
Written by Reflections from the Mirror / Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez
      Sunday, 08 February 2009 21:09

We congratulate Wesley So, at 15, the world’s youngest chess Grandmaster. The victory of So is another outstanding proof to the world that Filipinos can excel in cerebral sports like chess, as well as in gritty physical contests like boxing, as the world’s best, Manny Pacquiao, has proven again and again.

Well…Wesley isn’t the youngest anymore. He’s an “old man” now with Anish Giri and Hou Yifan.

I should add a “he he” at the end of that last post. Wesley isn’t old of course…

Ahh Campo, what happen to Pinay? She got busted?

But of course Campo is very deep, the most cerebral honorary crook.

Phillipinos make too much noise about everything. Perhaps a deeprooted inferiority complex? That said Wesley is certainly very very good!

        No Dufus.

It is because we are smarter than you and can spell correctly.

Also it is because we can beat your ass easy, whether in chess or boxing.

        Get it?
